Yeah this is the place to go if you want screamer subs. The prices are still pretty good too. Nothing fancy here just good food and a streamlined menu compared to the other Giamela's

I’ve been going to Giamela’s my whole life. It’s always been a run down place in need of upgrades, but that’s what it’s always been and that’s part of the “charm” that keeps the locals (and former locals) coming back. They’ve always had the best pepper steak sandwiches on the west coast (IMHO). I’ve visited Giamela’s a couple of times in the past year. A few months ago I noticed there was something different about my pepper steak, but I thought there must’ve been a mishap in the batch. This past weekend I went again and the sandwich was just as bland. I was so bummed since I don’t live in Burbank anymore and whenever I visit, I make time to go get my pepper steak sandwich. They must’ve changed their recipe because the steak is bland, the bread is bland, and even the hot peppers are different and not as spicy. I don’t know what happened during the past year or so, but I wish they’d change it back to what it used to be. It’s still good, but not great. Change it back!

Amazing. I have been going here for 50 years. The sandwiches are still the best in the country. The staff is the only drawback, young and unplesent at times. June 1st,2019. The sandwiches go up to $9.50 each, still a deal for a foot long peper stake That weighs in at almost 3 pounds. I love this place. Small, hidden and quaint. A small piece of what Burbank once was. AWESOME !

The sandwiches are good and the service is great. I'm not too sure about the actual building. Seems like it would be a health hazard to eat in there with the roof nearly collapsing and all. The money earned from their great food should be spend on their building to ensure a welcoming environment for all. Just a suggestion.

Food it okay I dont eat here as often as I used to... ive about tried all they have to offer over the years nothing special... only thing I like is the ability to top the sub with tomatoes onion and pickles... this place could sure use a cleaning and a little updating...
